If your AISLPC handheld cannot find Wi-Fi, will not connect even with the correct password, or cannot use online features after connecting, follow the steps below.

1. Cannot Find Wi-Fi

First, check which Wi-Fi band your AISLPC handheld supports. Then set your phone's hotspot to a matching Wi-Fi band before using it for testing.

  • If your handheld supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only: Set the phone hotspot to 2.4GHz.
  • If your handheld supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi: Use either supported band and make sure the phone hotspot is broadcasting on a band supported by the handheld.

Some phones may provide a hotspot band setting or a “Maximize Compatibility” option. Use these settings to make sure the hotspot is broadcasting on a Wi-Fi band supported by your handheld.

After confirming that the hotspot band is compatible, turn on the hotspot and check whether the handheld can detect it.

  • The hotspot appears: Check your home router's Wi-Fi band and network settings next.
  • The hotspot does not appear: Turn Wi-Fi off and back on, restart the handheld, and test again using the same compatible hotspot band.

If your home router provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, try 2.4GHz Wi-Fi first.

2. Wi-Fi Appears but Will Not Connect

Forget the saved Wi-Fi network, restart the handheld, and enter the password again.

If it still does not connect, try:

  • Using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
  • Giving the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks different names
  • Temporarily disabling Smart Connect / Band Steering
  • Setting Wi-Fi security to WPA2-Personal
  • Selecting AES if your router allows you to choose the encryption type separately

If your router is using WPA3 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, testing with WPA2-Personal can help identify a possible compatibility issue.

3. Correct Password but Still Cannot Connect

Sometimes the password is correct, but certain special characters may cause compatibility issues.

If your Wi-Fi name or password contains characters such as:

#, $, or ;

try temporarily using a Wi-Fi name and password with letters and numbers only.

For example:

Wi-Fi Name: Handheld24
Password: Game2026Test

If this works, you can restore your original settings afterward to help identify whether the Wi-Fi name or password format was causing the problem.

4. Mobile Hotspot Works but Home Wi-Fi Does Not

In this case, check your home router settings.

Try these steps one at a time:

  • Use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
  • Separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz
  • Temporarily use WPA2-Personal
  • Use a simple Wi-Fi name and password
  • Restart the router and try again

Changing one setting at a time makes it easier to find the cause.

5. Wi-Fi Is Connected but RGBOX / Downloader Does Not Work

If the handheld shows that Wi-Fi is connected but RGBOX, Downloader, or another online feature does not work, test another online feature first.

  • Other online features also do not work: Check whether your current network or router can access the internet normally.
  • Only RGBOX / Downloader does not work: The issue may be related to RGBOX, Downloader, firmware, or the related online service rather than Wi-Fi itself.

In this case, repeatedly changing the Wi-Fi password or frequency is unlikely to help.

Recommended Test Settings

If you are not sure what to change, try these simple settings first:

  • Wi-Fi: 2.4GHz
  • Security: WPA2-Personal
  • Encryption: AES, if available
  • Wi-Fi Name: Letters and numbers only
  • Password: Letters and numbers only

If Wi-Fi still does not work after trying these steps, check whether a newer firmware version is available for your handheld model.
